Course Description
At over 4000 ft above sea level, Mary’s Peak is the tallest in the Coast Range.
The 9.5 mile climb up the wide smooth Mary’s Peak Rd from Hwy 34 will take cyclists
past beautiful vistas of the Willamette Valley. Near the summit, the breakers at the coast
are even visible to the west and the Cascades to the east! The climb will start at the
intersection of Mary’s Peak Rd and Hwy 34 (1200 ft) and will end 9.5 miles later at the
parking lot on top (3600 ft).

Special Information
This event is held under special use permit from Siuslaw National Forest.
NSF is requiring a motorized escort down the last 3.5 miles of the course.
Please heed all posted speed limits on the mountain. If you pass the escort on the
way down, you will be disqualified from the event. Local law enforcement may also be
on site handing out tickets to speeders (bicycle and motor vehicle).

Parking
Parking on the mountain is VERY tight. Watch for parking signs on Hwy 34 just below
the Mary's Peak Rd turn. We will be parking vehicles along Hwy 34. Once that area fills,
cars will be routed up the mountain to various nooks and crannies. Riders will need to ride
down to the start obeying posted speed limits. Watch for parking signs and park
only in designated areas.
