Volunteer Positions - General
Type of Position Description
Registration, AM or PM Check ID & #s and start sheets to register riders on race day.
Pre-Registration, AM or PM Check ID & #s and start sheets.  Help the folks who have pre-registered get their numbers and get going.
Rover, AM or PM Hand out clipboards, answer questions and streamline registration.
Results Work with camera operator and data entry folks to create results for posting.
Data Entry (2) Enter data into start sheets from registrations.  Print results at end of each race. (Not responsible for results accuracy or data...just print 'em.)
Lead Car, AM or PM Drive in front of the field notifying intersections to stop traffic as you approach.
Follow Car, AM or PM Follow behind fields and help with changing flats using wheels you pick-up for that field at the start. Note who gets what wheel.  Don't need to be a mechanic.
Flagger/Corner Marshal Direct Race Traffic.  We should have paid flaggers to handle stopping traffic at key locations.
Signs(4) Place the signs on course per the traffic plan & pick them up after the race.  Truck or open trailer is helpful.
Runner (1) Work with data entry and move results and start sheets back and forth between registration area and finish line.
Finish Line(1) Mark finish line, setup OBRA generator, EZ-up and heaters.
Saturday Race Couse Sweeper (2) Sweep and mark course with spray chalk :-)
Volunteer Lunch Makers Make lunches for the volunteers
Volunteer Official, AM or PM Officiate Morning Session (training will be 1/31/09 in Corvallis)
Sheriff Assist and the key corners on the course
Equipment Sign in/out Before and after each racing session help the volunteers and officials get their equipment and have them sign the equipment out.
Traffic Warning Signs These are put up along the course 2 weeks before the race.  Removed ASAP after the race is over.
Starting Whip Coordinate the starts (Chief Ref?)
Vehicle Whip Coordinates the caravans to stage while the racers receive the pre-race briefing from the officials.
