Team Background
Hello and welcome to the Willamette Valley
Cycling Team's webpage. We are a diverse group of amateur racers
from the beautiful Willamette Valley in Oregon, USA. The mission of
Willamette Valley Cycling Team (WVCT) is to promote bicycle racing
in the state of Oregon with specific focus on facilitating and
encouraging participation from juniors (18 and under), women, and
masters (40+), in the form of coaching services, team cycling
clothing subsidy, involvement in the operations of the State cycling
organization, and promotion of bicycle competition.
The junior racing program is centered out of
Corvallis, OR. Road training for the junior team begins in January
and runs through May. Cyclocross training for the junior team begins
in September and runs through October. The juniors who belong to
WVCT receive coaching from our knowledgable adult team members, race
in some of Oregon's finest races and receive equipment sponsorhip
through Peak Sports in Corvallis, OR.
WVCT promotes The Cherry Pie Road Race (CPRR)
and the OBRA TTT Champs. CPRR is the first and largest one day road
race in Oregon. This year we are excited to have hosted 538 racers
from Oregon and the surrounding states! |
